At Barc For Pets, we're redefining dog daycare.
We provide boutique outdoor dog daycare experiences focused on enrichment, healthy socialisation, exercise, and wellbeing. Our small-group approach allows dogs to enjoy structured outdoor adventures while receiving personalised care and attention.
We're looking for a reliable, dog-loving individual to join our growing team as a Dog Care Assistant.
No previous industry experience is required. If you're enthusiastic, responsible, enjoy working outdoors, and love spending time with dogs, we'll provide training and ongoing support.
About the Role
You'll work alongside an experienced team member, helping manage small groups of dogs during outdoor daycare sessions.
This is a client-facing role, so confidence communicating with dog owners and representing the Barc brand professionally is important.
You will:
- Assist with outdoor dog daycare sessions
- Help supervise and engage dogs during activities
- Support safe and positive social interactions
- Communicate professionally with clients when required
- Learn dog handling and group management skills through on-the-job training
- Meet at designated park locations across Sydney

- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physically active and capable of handling multiple dogs
- Looking for a flexible role with growth opportunities
- Willing to learn and take direction
Essential Requirements
- Own reliable vehicle
- Current driver's licence
- Available during school holiday periods
- Available for overnight minding (OM) assignments when bookings arise
- Eligible to work as an independent contractor in Australia
Hours & Growth Opportunity
The role will begin with:
- 1 x 3-hour shift per week
As our client base continues to grow, there is an opportunity to increase to:
- Up to 5 x 3-hour shifts per week (approximately 15 hours)
Rates
- Dog Care Assistant: $30 per hour
- Overnight Minding (OM): $60 per dog, per day
