What you'll contribute to
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic legal advice that supports fair, compliant, and effective people practices. Reporting to the Legal Manager, this senior role will provide strategic legal advice and support primarily to our People & Culture (P&C) team.
This is a dynamic and high-impact opportunity to shape and safeguard the legal framework underpinning our people practices. The permanent, full time role based in Brisbane will focus on industrial relations and employment matters, workplace investigations, policy and compliance, and supporting enterprise agreement negotiations. You’ll play a critical role in enabling a positive and compliant workplace culture, contributing to CleanCo’s broader mission of delivering Queensland’s clean energy future.
In addition to P&C matters, this role may support other parts of the business, including procurement, governance, and general commercial matters. You will also mentor junior legal staff and contribute to continuous improvement within the Legal & Risk function.
On your first day we expect you to have:
- 8+ years post-qualification legal experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house environment, with a strong background in employment and industrial relations law and strategy
- A Bachelor of Laws and an unrestricted QLD Practising Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one immediately)
- Proven experience advising on workplace law, enterprise bargaining, workplace investigations, and employment contracting and disputes
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to deliver pragmatic, commercially minded legal advice in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for contributing to impactful projects that support a clean energy future
- A passion to be part of something bigger than yourself, that contributes to the delivery of a clean energy future crafted in Queensland.
What you will find here
- The opportunity to contribute to Queensland’s clean energy future and see the real-world impact of your work
