The Manager, Network Reliability leads AusNet’s network reliability strategy, driving initiatives that improve network performance, resilience and customer outcomes. This role provides technical and people leadership to identify, prioritise and deliver reliability improvements, leveraging advanced analytics, risk-based decision making and innovative technologies to optimise investment outcomes, manage reliability risks and support the long-term performance of the transmission and distribution network.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
Lead, develop and mentor the Reliability team, building capability and delivering reliability objectives aligned to AusNet’s values and leadership expectations.
Develop and implement strategic reliability improvement programs to enhance network performance, resilience and customer outcomes.
Own the reliability risk framework and assessment tools, ensuring consistent governance, adoption and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Utilise advanced analytics and data interrogation to identify reliability trends, opportunities and business case initiatives.
Lead reliability projects, identifying cost-effective investment opportunities through augmentation, technology adoption and asset replacement strategies.
Analyse network performance and asset failures to identify systemic risks and improve reliability outcomes.
Oversee reliability investigations and reporting of major incidents, ensuring timely insights and strategic recommendations.
You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electrical)
Strong technical expertise in the electricity distribution industry, with a deep understanding of LV and HV systems, network designs, network assets, network operability, and asset maintenance. Experience in applying this knowledge to monitor and maintain network health, and contribute to projects through network designs to commissioning stages
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and mentor a team of technical specialists to achieve specific outcomes
Proven ability to engage, influence and build effective relationships with stakeholders to drive alignment, accountability and delivery of business outcomes. This capability will be applied to prioritise and execute initiatives that enhance network reliability and performance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to a variety of stakeholders, internally and externally.
Experience engaging with regulatory bodies and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, laws, regulations, standards, codes, and company policies and procedures.
A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to proactively identify and promote opportunities to improve future operability, maintainability, and reliability performance.
