Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced for the Community Development practitioner to lead the Connected Beginnings initiative with our Yandi for Change Roeboure team.
The Collective impact coordinator will work in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders towards community-led systems change for the integration and access to early childhood services for children at risk of developmental vulnerability.
This role focuses on community engagement, coordination, and facilitation of local initiatives, supporting leaders and stakeholders to develop and implement community-led activities.
The role leads the Community Engagement team with two direct reports and will work closely with the Manager of Communities and Partnerships, supporting strategic planning, program delivery, and stakeholder engagement to achieve sustainable outcomes.
The role requires strong interpersonal skills, leadership experience, the ability to build trusted relationships across multiple sectors, and practical experience delivering programs, events, and community consultation processes.
Team leadership experience managing 2-5 people is required for this position.
About Julyardi + Yandi for Change
The Collective Impact Coordinator will be employed by Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation which is a community-based non-profit overseen by a Board of Directors, an Elders collective and operationally managed by a Chief Executive Officer.
Yandi for Change is a collective of Roebourne Elders supported by Julyardi to provide operational programme delivery.
Key responsibilities:
Community Engagement Leadership & Delivery
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of community-led initiatives and activities managed by the Community Engagement team.
- Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, families, service providers, schools, NGOs, and government agencies.
- Facilitate community consultations, workshops, and meetings to gather feedback and strengthen engagement.
- Assist in co-designing programs and engagement strategies with team and community members.
- Support initiatives in capturing and reporting on community feedback, outcomes, and learnings.
- Develop marketing and communications plans to support desired community engagement outcomes.
Capacity building & knowledge sharing
- Provide support and guidance to staff, local leaders and volunteers in program delivery.
- Assist in designing and delivering training or resources to build community capacity.
- Contribute to documenting best practices and lessons learned from community initiatives.
Program Support & Administration
- Assist with project planning, monitoring, and evaluation, including tracking budgets and resources.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, stakeholders, and program outcomes using relevant software tools.
- Provide administrative support to the Manager of Communities and Partnerships and the wider team as needed.
- Support grant applications, funding submissions, and reporting requirements for community initiatives.
General Organisational Responsibilities
- Contribute to a collaborative and positive team culture.
- Support delivery of organisational Marketing and Communications strategy
- Represent Julyardi at relevant forums, events, and stakeholder meetings as requested.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Manager of Communities and Partnerships.
Key relationships
- Lead team supporting the Yandi for Change Elders group
- Reports to the Manager of Communities and Partnerships.
- Works closely with Julyardi management, project teams, and local leadership groups.
- Builds collaborative relationships with external stakeholders, including government, NGOs, service providers, and community members.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in community development, engagement, or program coordination.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experience managing events, workshops, and community programs.
- Knowledge of marketing and communications approaches aimed at different stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Education, or related field.
- Knowledge of frameworks such as Collective Impact, Asset-Based Community Development, or community organizing principles.
- Experience in program evaluation and reporting.
