Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed major referral hospital and specialist hub for Central Queensland, providing care for patients from Rockhampton, surrounding regional communities and smaller rural hospitals. With a new state-of-the-art cancer care facility and a wide range of specialist services, it delivers complex care across medical, surgical, emergency, maternity, paediatric, mental health and critical care areas.

About the role:
Assist patients, visitors and staff, answer enquiries and manage ward reception and phone calls.
Coordinate appointments, transfers, discharges, transport and resources to support smooth patient flow across the hospital.
Assist medical and nursing staff with documentation, patient charts, audits, reporting and other essential administrative tasks.
Accurately update patient information and hospital systems, complete Patient Election Forms and manage data, records and appointments.
Prioritise competing tasks, use initiative and stay organised while providing reliable support in a busy hospital environment.
About you:
Be highly organised and self-directed, able to juggle priorities, work independently and keep patient flow moving in a busy hospital environment.
Be confident with technology, using systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and hospital information systems accurately and efficiently.
Have strong administrative skills, with the ability to understand medical terminology and confidently navigate patient records and hospital systems.
Use initiative and sound judgement, responding appropriately to emergencies, handling sensitive information discreetly and solving problems when situations don't always follow a set script.
What we offer:
An hourly rate between $50.21 - $55.84 p.h. (includes 25% casual loading)
