Mary Street Bakery is looking for experienced part-time front of house staff to join our busy CBD team. We’re after confident hospitality people who communicate well, work quickly, take initiative and enjoy being part of a fast-paced team.
This is a busy, fast-paced hospitality environment, so we’re ideally looking for people who already have solid café, restaurant or hospitality experience. Barista experience is welcome but not essential — strong restaurant or front of house experience is equally valuable.
Shifts are daytime only, Monday to Friday — no evenings, weekends or public holidays.
We’re looking for people who are:
- Experienced in hospitality and comfortable working at pace
- Confident communicating with customers and coworkers
- Fluent or highly proficient in English
- Strong team players who are happy to jump into whatever needs doing
- Good at multitasking and prioritising during busy periods
- Positive and composed under pressure
- Attentive to detail, cleanliness and presentation
- Proactive and able to see what needs doing without constantly being directed
- Aware of what is happening around them and able to anticipate what the team needs
- Genuinely focused on giving customers a great experience
We don’t expect someone new to know every detail immediately, but we do expect effort, awareness, initiative and a willingness to contribute from day one.
We are currently looking for part-time team members, with shifts available across a variety of days. We can offer some flexibility around university commitments and time off, particularly where availability is communicated clearly in advance.
