Join CITEC's Microsoft Services Team as an IT Support Consultant and help deliver reliable, high-quality technical support and advice to customers, business partners and internal staff. This role is ideal for an experienced systems administration professional who enjoys working across complex enterprise environments, solving technical problems and contributing to the delivery of modern, customer-focused ICT services.
In this role, you will provide support across Microsoft Server environments, helping to maintain stable, secure and effective services for CITEC's customers. You will deliver system administration services and technical advice in line with agreed service levels, while supporting CITEC's business viability and cost competitiveness. Your work will involve both operational support and broader service improvement, making this a varied and rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on technical work with strategic contribution.
You will work closely with a wide range of CITEC teams, particularly those responsible for other layers of the ICT infrastructure stack, including Internetworking, Architecture, Product Management, Customer Relationship Managers, Solutions Implementation Teams and Project Management. Through this collaboration, you will help deliver integrated solutions, support customer outcomes and contribute to the effective management of complex technology environments.
The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to projects across the Microsoft Services Team. This includes supporting customer onboarding, assisting with the development and implementation of new architecture solutions, and researching the suitability of new and emerging technologies. You will also contribute to technical responses for RFIs and RFPs, and participate in pre-sales activities such as workshops, demonstrations, proof of concepts, evaluations and benchmarks. This makes the role well suited to someone who can combine technical expertise with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
A key part of the role is identifying risks and opportunities for improvement across management infrastructure, tools and procedures. You will work with staff at all levels and across operational teams to support agreed improvement initiatives and risk treatment strategies. CITEC is looking for someone who can think critically, work collaboratively and contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery and technical capability.
To succeed in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience in system administration within an enterprise environment, along with proven success in translating business requirements into effective technical solutions. You will have strong problem-solving skills and experience resolving issues in complex IT infrastructure and business environments. You will also have a track record of delivering reliable systems administration, management and enhancement services, while meeting deadlines and commitments.
Just as important are your personal qualities and approach to work. You will be someone who works effectively within organisational processes and constraints, takes responsibility for accuracy, reflects on your own performance and actively seeks feedback. You will also be a clear, proactive communicator who can engage confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders across a complex customer and infrastructure landscape.
This role includes after-hours support through on-call and/or overtime arrangements, so flexibility and responsiveness are important. The successful applicant must also be based in the greater Brisbane area and be able to attend CITEC offices at short notice.
Applications will remain current for 12 months.
