About the Role
Care Fast is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and professional Greek speaking Disability Support Worker to provide one on one support to a participant living with a psychosocial disability.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of building trust, maintaining consistent routines, and delivering person centred support with empathy, respect, and professionalism. The successful applicant will be confident supporting a participant to achieve their goals while promoting independence, choice, and quality of life.
The ability to communicate fluently in Greek is essential to build rapport, support meaningful engagement, and ensure effective communication with the participant.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Support:
- Provide person-centred support in accordance with the participant’s support plan and organisational policies.
- Communicate confidently in Greek to support meaningful engagement and daily interactions.
- Assist with activities of daily living, community access, appointments, and recreational activities.
- Encourage and promote independence through coaching, encouragement, and practical support.
- Support the participant in establishing and maintaining healthy routines and achieving individual goals.
Psychosocial Support:
- Provide calm, consistent, and recovery-oriented support tailored to the participant’s individual needs.
- Remain patient, professional, and non-reactive during periods of emotional distress or heightened anxiety.
- Follow behaviour support strategies, risk management plans, and organisational procedures where applicable.
- Build a positive therapeutic relationship while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
- Encourage community participation, social inclusion, and confidence-building.
Professional Practice:
- Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and documentation.
- Report incidents, concerns, and observations in accordance with organisational requirements.
- Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and the wider Care Fast team.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is fluent in both Greek.
- Has previous experience supporting people with psychosocial disabilities, mental health conditions, or complex support needs.
- Demonstrates empathy, emotional maturity, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Can remain calm, patient, and solution-focused in a variety of situations.
- Understands the importance of maintaining professional boundaries and person-centred practice.
- Is reliable, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality support.
Essential Requirements:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Current National Police Check.
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance.
- Working rights in Australia.
