About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our team at Mildura Health Private Hospital in Mildura, Victoria. This role involves the delivery of safe, patient-centered perioperative care across a range of surgical procedures. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in preparing theatres, supporting surgeons and anesthetists, and ensuring exceptional patient safety and outcomes throughout the surgical journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical and procedural interventions.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care throughout the perioperative journey.
- Perform Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetic and/or Recovery nursing duties within scope of practice.
- Prepare operating theatres, equipment, instruments and consumables for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams during procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic technique.
- Participate in surgical safety processes including patient identification, consent verification and procedural time-outs.
- Manage and care for specialised surgical equipment and instrumentation.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Perioperative Nursing
- Qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor Degree
- Proven experience in Perioperative Nursing
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
