About Us:
Hitech Air Solutions is a Victorian-based air conditioning and mechanical services business providing installation, servicing, repair and maintenance services for residential, commercial and industrial clients. Due to continued business growth and increasing demand for our services, we are looking for a skilled and reliable Fitter to support our ongoing mechanical and HVAC operations.
About the Role:
The successful applicant will provide technical support in the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and performance monitoring of air-conditioning, ventilation and mechanical services systems across residential and commercial projects.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Assisting with the planning, coordination and technical delivery of HVAC and mechanical services projects.
Interpreting technical drawings, specifications, equipment manuals and mechanical service plans.
Inspecting, testing and monitoring air-conditioning, ventilation and mechanical systems to ensure correct operation.
Assisting with the installation, commissioning, adjustment and performance testing of mechanical plant and equipment, including motors, fans, compressors, pumps, ducting, piping and associated HVAC components.
Collecting system performance data, recording pressure, airflow, temperature and operational readings, and assisting with fault identification.
Preparing technical reports, job sheets, service records, material lists and maintenance documentation.
Estimating materials, equipment and labour requirements for mechanical services works.
Assisting with troubleshooting, repair recommendations and rectification of mechanical and HVAC system issues.
Coordinating with technicians, installers, suppliers, contractors and clients to ensure works are completed safely and to specification.
Supervising and checking work performed by trades assistants or junior staff where required.
Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, manufacturer specifications, project requirements and applicable Australian standards.
The successful applicant must have:
Relevant qualification in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, mechanical services, HVAC, refrigeration or a related technical field; or
At least 3 years of relevant practical experience in mechanical systems, HVAC systems, plant maintenance, commissioning, testing or technical mechanical services work.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and equipment manuals.
Strong fault-finding, inspection, reporting and technical problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and ability to liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal team members.
Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and compliance requirements.
Current driver licence preferred
