We are seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter to join our growing construction team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Formwork Construction: Build, assemble, and install formwork structures according to construction plans and specifications.
- Interpretation of Blueprints: Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints to determine formwork requirements.
- Material Handling: Select, cut, and shape formwork materials (wood, metal, or plastic) to meet the specific dimensions of the project.
- Concrete Pouring Support: Work closely with concrete pouring teams to ensure formwork is correctly positioned and secure, ready for concrete placement.
- Quality Control: Inspect and maintain formwork to ensure it meets safety standards and project specifications. Identify and correct any defects.
- Dismantling Formwork: Once the concrete has set, safely remove formwork structures without damaging the concrete or surrounding structures.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other construction workers, including steel fixers, carpenters, and laborers, to ensure the smooth progression of the project.
- Site Clean-up: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper disposal of waste materials.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as a form worker or similar role in the construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Strong understanding of construction techniques and safety practices.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.28 – $60.30 per hour
