We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Computer Repair Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of desktop computers, laptops, and custom gaming rigs. The ideal candidate has a strong hardware and software background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to everyday customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform thorough diagnostic testing on desktops, laptops, and all-in-one PCs to identify hardware and software faults.
- Hardware Repairs & Upgrades: Replace faulty components, including motherboards, screens, keyboards, power supplies, RAM, and storage drives (HDD to SSD upgrades).
- Operating System & Software Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and macOS operating systems, drivers, and third-party software. Remove viruses, malware, and spyware.
- Data Services: Perform data backups, file transfers, and assist with standard data recovery procedures.
- Custom Builds: Assemble, test, and cable-manage custom-built desktop PCs according to client specifications.
- Customer Service: Greet customers drop-off/pick-up, provide accurate repair quotes, explain technical issues in plain English, and deliver exceptional after-repair support.
- Workshop Management: Maintain an organized, clean workspace, track repair tickets accurately in our management system, and manage inventory/spare parts ordering.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience in computer hardware diagnostics, repairs, and technical support (Minimum 1–2+ years of hands-on experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows (10/11) and macOS environments.
- Familiarity with BIOS/UEFI configuration, disk partitioning, and cloning tools.
- Ability to perform component-level troubleshooting and physical repairs safely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—capable of translating geek speak into customer-friendly terms.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to juggle multiple repairs simultaneously.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) or a background in electronics/IT studies is a strong advantage.
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
