We are seeking an experienced and people-focused leader to join our team. The Senior Team Leader Community Connections provides operational and people leadership to a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering community response, social connection and support to older community members and younger people to live safely at home and connected to their community.

About the role:
In this role you will work as part of the broader leadership team within Council’s Supported and Connected Living Department providing leadership and guidance to the Community Connections team.
You will also apply skills in stakeholder engagement, consultation, and partnership development, with the resilience and adaptability to lead effectively in a dynamic and responsive service environment.
You will:
- Oversee the Community Connections team which includes the Home and Community Care for Younger People (HACC PYP) Assessment Team and Social Inclusion Team.
- Lead community development, social inclusion and community participation initiatives that strengthen wellbeing of vulnerable and older community members.
- Manage the Community Development portfolio which engages on a range of issues including advocacy matters that impact the health and wellbeing of older people.
- Coordinate strategic programs, partnerships and innovation initiatives aligned with Council’s priorities and community outcomes.
- Lead community co-design, consultation and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Oversee the planning, delivery, review and continuous improvement of Senior’s events, grants and social activities.
- Coordinate with community health services, housing providers, State Government agencies and community organisations to support positive outcomes for clients.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrate experience leading a team delivering responsive, person-centred community services or social services.
- Sound understanding of the HACC PYP program and the Aged Care system.
- Knowledge of community response, social connection and support service frameworks applicable to local government.
- Understanding of the vulnerability, social exclusion, safeguarding and trauma-informed practice principals.
- Ability to provide an empathetic, trauma-informed and person-centred approach.
- Clear communication with clients, families, team members and community partners, including ability to facilitate forums, committees and co-design processes.
