DWF Claims Management Australia is seeking a dedicated Account Manager – Professional Indemnity & Cyber Claims to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is based in Sydney CBD.
As an Account Manager – Professional Indemnity & Cyber Claims, you will manage a portfolio of complex and sensitive claims from first notification through to resolution. You will assess coverage, investigate liability and quantum, engage external experts where required, and work closely with insurers, brokers, underwriting agencies, and insured clients to achieve timely and commercially sound outcomes. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a client-focused and regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of Financial Lines claims, including Management Liability, Directors & Officers, Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, and Life Sciences claims.
- Review policy coverage, assess liability and quantum, manage reserves, and negotiate claim settlements within delegated authority levels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, insurers, clients, and other stakeholders, providing regular claim updates and effective communication.
- Coordinate and instruct external service providers, including lawyers, forensic specialists, loss adjusters, and IT vendors, to support claim investigations and resolution.
- Maintain accurate claim records, ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, support reporting obligations, and contribute to a high-performing team environment.
What will help you succeed in this role? :
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an insurance, claims, legal, financial lines, and/or cyber claims environment, with demonstrated technical claims handling expertise.
- Strong client service focus, with the ability to build trusted relationships and confidently manage sensitive or complex stakeholder interactions.
- Well-developed analytical, negotiation, and strategic decision-making skills, supported by a commercial mindset and sound judgement.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, manage workloads effectively, and deliver quality outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with sound IT proficiency; experience with the Lloyd's market and/or a legal qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
