Woodward Foods Australia is looking for two experienced full-time truck drivers to join our transport team at our Swan Hill abattoir.
Positions available:
1 x HR Driver – Local and Regional Delivery
1 x MC Driver – Interstate Refrigerated Transport
About the roles
The HR Driver will complete local and regional deliveries of chilled and packaged meat products to customers, wholesalers and depots.
The MC Driver will complete interstate refrigerated deliveries of boxed meat and hanging carcases, including overnight runs where required.
Main responsibilities
- Operate manual heavy vehicles safely and in accordance with road transport laws and company procedures.
- Check the vehicle, trailer and refrigeration equipment before and after each trip.
- Confirm that loads are correctly positioned, restrained and within legal weight limits.
- Check delivery dockets, manifests and consignment documents before departure.
- Maintain the required temperature and cold-chain standards during transport.
- Complete logbooks, fatigue records, run sheets and proof-of-delivery documents accurately.
- Assist with loading and unloading when required and follow safe manual-handling procedures.
- Report vehicle faults, delays, incidents or delivery issues promptly.
What we are looking for
- A current Australian HR licence for the local delivery position.
- A current Australian MC licence for the interstate position.
- Experience driving manual heavy vehicles.
- At least one year of relevant truck-driving experience.
- A good driving record and sound knowledge of fatigue management, load restraint and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
- A reliable, safety-focused and professional approach to work.
- The physical ability to inspect and secure loads and assist with loading or unloading when required.
- A forklift licence is an advantage but not essential.
Employment conditions
- Permanent, full-time employment.
- Salary between $80,000 and $90,000 plus superannuation, depending on the position, licence class and experience.
- Early starts, overtime, weekend work and overnight interstate travel may be required.
- Applicants must be willing to provide a driving-history report and complete a pre-employment medical assessment, drug and alcohol screening, and police check.
Visa sponsorship may be considered for suitably qualified and experienced drivers who meet the relevant requirements. Relocation to Swan Hill is required.
