About QIMR Berghofer:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Brain and Mental Health, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.
About the Procurement Team:
As part of the Finance & Procurement department, the Procurement team works with researchers to ensure procurement activities are in-line with required procedures and that QIMR Berghofer is buying at market or below market rates.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and motivated Procurement Officer to provide high-quality procurement services, advice and support to researchers and corporate staff across the Institute. In this role you will help ensure procurement activities are conducted in accordance with relevant policies and legislation, while achieving value for money and fostering effective supplier engagement.
You will:

Independently manage procurement activities across a portfolio, ensuring compliance with Queensland Procurement Policy and Institute policies.

Undertake end-to-end procurement processes including planning, market engagement, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract establishment.

Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure audit readiness.
While the role includes end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities, it also plays an important role in supporting day-to-day purchasing operations and ensuring efficient procurement service delivery.
About you:
You will bring demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end procurement processes, including RFQ/RFT development, market engagement, evaluation, negotiation, and contract establishment.
You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders as well as the confidence to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve value for money. Your analytical mindset, together with your ability to manage multiple activities concurrently and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes will see you succeed in this role.

Remuneration: Salary range is $91,591 to $100,862 per annum plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, permanent position.
