As a Merchandise Attendant, you'll help visitors find the perfect keepsake to remember their experience. From assisting customers and sharing product information to processing sales and maintaining beautifully presented merchandise displays, you'll be an important part of the visitor journey.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering outstanding customer service.
- Assisting patrons with merchandise enquiries, recommendations and purchases.
- Processing sales using EFTPOS and point-of-sale systems.
- Maintaining attractive merchandise displays.
- Assisting with stock replenishment and stock control.
- Completing cash handling and balancing activities.
- Supporting a safe and welcoming environment for all guests.
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy working with people, love creating positive customer experiences and can remain calm and friendly during busy periods. Experience in retail, hospitality, merchandise sales or customer service will be highly regarded, along with confidence using POS/EFTPOS systems, and working as part of a team. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and peak visitor periods is important, and the casual nature of the role may also suit people looking to balance work with family, study or other commitments.

What You’ll Need
- Current QLD Working with Children (Blue Card) – Essential.
- QLD “C” Class Driver Licence – Essential.
- Retail experience using POS/EFTPOS systems and supporting stock control in a fast-paced environment.
Employment Details
This fixed term opportunity forms part of the major exhibition project running from November 2026 to May 2027. This casual position offers flexible hours will include weekends, evenings, public holidays and regular out-of-hours work in line with operational requirements.
- Stream B, MECC Level 2: $31.15 per hour + Casual loading
- 12% superannuation
- Any 5 days across a 7-day roster.
