Baobab Care is looking for an experienced and reliable Female Disability Support Worker to provide support to a participant with complex physical support needs in Geraldton.
The successful applicant must be confident with personal care, manual handling and transfers, and be able to follow participant-specific care plans and safety procedures.
Required Training, Skills & Experience
Applicants should have the following:
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Manual Handling Training
- Hoist Transfer Training
- Hoist Competency Assessment
- Sling Selection and Positioning Competency
- Participant-Specific Transfer Plan Training
- Mealtime Management Training
- Dysphagia and Choking Risk Training
- PEG/Enteral Feeding Training, if required for the participant
- Participant-Specific Feeding Plan Training
- Infection Control Training
- Medication Competency, if required
- Emergency and Escalation Procedure Training
- Certificate III in Individual Support/Disability preferred
- Previous experience supporting participants with complex physical needs is highly preferred
About the Role
The role may include assisting with personal care, safe transfers and hoist use, mobility support, mealtime assistance, following feeding and transfer plans, medication support where required, infection control, monitoring the participant’s wellbeing and responding appropriately to emergencies or changes in condition.
You will also be expected to complete clear shift documentation and follow all participant support plans, workplace procedures and safety requirements.

We are looking for someone who is experienced, patient, reliable and confident with complex care. You must be able to follow instructions and care plans carefully and work safely while maintaining the participant’s dignity and choice.
Female Support Worker required due to participant-specific personal care and support requirements.
