At the City of Boroondara, we’re proud of our vibrant, sustainable and inclusive community. As an organisation, we work together to deliver meaningful outcomes and place our customers at the centre of everything we do. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Project Manager to join our Capital Projects team and play a vital role in shaping the future of our built environment.
About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will take the lead in delivering complex capital building and infrastructure projects across our municipality. From concept through to completion, you will manage all stages of project delivery—working closely with internal stakeholders, external contractors and consultants, and the broader Boroondara community. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that places you at the forefront of enhancing community spaces and delivering high-quality public infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed project scopes and estimates in collaboration with internal departments and managing projects from initial planning through to successful delivery. You will apply sound project management principles to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standard, while effectively managing risk, quality and stakeholder expectations.
You will oversee all aspects of contract management including the preparation of tenders, contractor selection and performance monitoring, in line with Council’s governance and procurement frameworks. Communication is key—whether leading project working groups, presenting to stakeholders or preparing clear, plain-language reports for Council decision-making. Environmental sustainability will be a focus in your planning and design, aligning with Boroondara’s strategic goals.
About You
You are a highly experienced project manager with a relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or a similar field. You bring demonstrated success in delivering complex community infrastructure projects and have a strong understanding of construction contract management, budgeting, stakeholder engagement and risk mitigation. Your communication skills are exceptional, enabling you to confidently lead teams, resolve challenges and engage effectively with diverse groups.
You thrive in a collaborative environment and are driven by a genuine desire to improve outcomes for the community. You are detail-oriented, strategic and solutions-focused, with a passion for excellence in service delivery.
