About the Role
This is not a standard retail job. I run a small, independent boutique jewellery store in Cairns, specialising in fine jewellery, custom designs, repairs, and valuations. After 31 years in business, I'm looking for a highly capable, dependable and genuinely lovely person to work alongside me — and to confidently run the shop when I'm away.
Applicants must be Australian citizens to be eligible for this position.
I'm seeking someone with maturity, reliability and common sense — someone I can trust implicitly with my business, my customers and my reputation.
Candidates must be a confidant, honest "gun" salesperson for this role.
You will be:
- 100% reliable and punctual (this is essential)
- A confident and persuasive seller who genuinely enjoys helping customers
- Minimum 1-2 years of retail or sales experience is required
- Calm, capable and organised — able to manage the shop independently
- A warm, engaging communicator who builds instant rapport
- Proud to keep the store immaculate, professional, and welcoming
- Comfortable managing jewellery repairs, customer enquiries and follow-ups
- Someone who brings positive energy — as it's just you and me most days
Jewellery experience is highly regarded, but not essential for the right person. If you've worked in luxury retail, fashion, or boutique sales and love learning, I'm very happy to train.

Pay: $36.11 per hour
