Diamond Valley Jewellers is looking for a Full-time Jewellery Designer to help with our growing jewellery making and repair business
We are a family-owned manufacturing jeweller located in the north easter suburbs of Melbourne.
This role suits a skilled jeweler who takes pride in exceptional craftsmanship and enjoys working in a very busy workshop with a growing repair and restoration business, alongside bespoke and custom manufacturing
Requirements:
*Proven experience as a jeweler (minimum 5 years) with strong repair, restoration and handmake skills
* Able to complete the following jewellery skills
* Designs and sketches jewellery and objects free hand
* Develops detailed technical drawings and specifications for the manufacture also able to use CAD programs to generate 3D modeling of jewellery
* Chain Repairs
* Ring resizing
* Claw retipping and replacement
* Stone setting
* Strong eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
* Ability to complete work efficiently and to the highest standard.
* Laser welding skills - preferred but not a prerequisite.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Confidence with IT systems and general computer use
* Clear, professional communication skills
* Selects and sources materials such as metals, precious stones and plastics, for the production of jewellery pieces
* Collaborates with manufacturers and craftspeople to ensure the accurate production of design
*Tests and evaluates the functionality and durability of each piece
We are open to a flexible hour’s arrangement with successful candidate, however, must be available to work Saturdays 9 to 2
The successful candidate needs to be well presented and able to communicate with customers as they will be expected to help in the retail front of store welcoming clients, taking orders, sales and merchandising when required
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
