As a Mechanical Engineer in our Plastics Production division, you will be
responsible for overseeing production planning, machine operation, maintenance,
process optimization, quality control, and safety within the plant. You will work closely
with cross-functional teams, ensuring operational excellence and continuous
improvement across all production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement production schedules based on demand and
available capacity.
- Ensure the timely and efficient execution of production plans with minimal
downtime.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure availability of
raw materials.
2. Machine Operation & Maintenance:
- Oversee the operation of plastic processing machines such as injection
molding machines, extruders, and grinders.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems to
minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues in real-time to ensure continuous production
flow.
3. Process Optimization:
- Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and enhance
efficiency.
- Implement process improvements, new standard operating procedures
(SOPs), and work instructions to reduce cycle time and minimize waste.
- Ensure adherence to proper process parameters and guidelines.
4. Quality Control & Assurance:
- Collaborate with the QA team to monitor and maintain product quality.
- Perform root cause analysis of defects and propose engineering changes
when needed.
- Ensure all products meet ISO and industry standards for quality and
compliance.
5. Tooling & Mold Maintenance:
- Work closely with the toolroom to coordinate mold servicing, modifications,
and improvements.
- Ensure molds are properly maintained to ensure optimal production
performance.
6. Team Coordination & Training:
- Lead and guide machine operators and technical staff to meet production
goals.
- Provide training on machine operation, safety protocols, and maintenance
procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the team.
7. Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate logs of production activities, maintenance tasks, and
downtime events.
- Report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE (Overall Equipment
Effectiveness), rejection rates, and production efficiency.
- Assist with audits and certifications by providing comprehensive
documentation.
8. Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to maintain a safe
working environment.
Requirements:
- Candidate must have Bachelor’s degree or above
- Minimum 2 years of experience in similar field preferably in a plastics
production or manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of plastic processing machinery (e.g., injection molding
machines, extruders, grinders)..
