We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and hospitality-focused Supervisor to join the team at Archers Torquay.
Working closely with and reporting to the Venue Manager, this is a hands on leadership role suited to someone who loves being on the floor, thrives during busy service, and takes pride in delivering exceptional hospitality.

About the Role
As Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting the day to day operations of the venue, leading the team during service, and ensuring Archers consistently delivers the high standards our guests know and love.
Key responsibilities include:
Service & Floor Leadership
- Leading service shifts alongside the Venue Manager, setting the tone for warm, knowledgeable, and professional hospitality
- Supporting the FOH team to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Taking ownership of the floor during busy services, ensuring smooth operations and strong communication
- Building genuine relationships with guests and creating memorable experiences
- Handling guest feedback confidently and professionally
Wine & Beverage Knowledge
- Sharing your passion and knowledge of wine with guests and the team
- Supporting wine service, recommendations, and food pairings
- Participating in regular tastings, supplier education, and team training
- Working confidently across the bar, including cocktails, spirits, and beer service
Food & Kitchen Support
- Supporting the delivery of Archers’ food offering, including tapas, snacks, and our late-night toastie menu
- Assisting with basic food preparation, plating, and service during busy periods
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, consistency, and food quality
- Working closely with the FOH team to ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and floor
- Supporting food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
Team Support & Development
- Supporting the Venue Manager with training, coaching, and mentoring team members
- Helping create a positive, motivated, and professional team culture
- Leading by example and helping junior team members grow their skills
Operations
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures
- Supporting stock control, ordering, and venue presentation
- Ensuring RSA, food safety, and service standards are maintained
- Assisting with events, functions, and venue activations
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced – Minimum 2 years hospitality experience, with experience in a senior FOH or supervisory role preferred
- Wine Passionate – Strong wine knowledge is essential; WSET certification or similar qualifications are highly regarded
- A Natural Leader – Confident, calm, and capable of guiding a team through busy services
- Guest Focused – Someone who genuinely enjoys creating memorable experiences for every guest
- Bar Experienced – Comfortable behind the bar with cocktails, spirits, beer, and fast paced service
- Reliable & Organised – Someone who takes ownership and pride in their work
- Growth Minded – Looking for a long term opportunity to develop into a senior hospitality leader
Current RSA certification is essential.
