About us:
The Central Queensland Specialist Palliative Care in Aged Care (CQ SPACE) project aims to improve access to specialist palliative and end-of-life care for residents in aged care facilities, helping people remain in their chosen place of care and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.
Funded under the Australian Government's Better Quality of Care initiative, it supports residents in all accredited Residential Aged Care Facilities and eligible Multi-purpose Health Services across Central Queensland.
CQ SPACE doesn't replace existing care - it builds on the important work already being done by aged care nurses and GPs, adding specialist support while ensuring clinical responsibility remains with the resident's usual care team.
About the role:
Provide confidential administrative support to the Central Queensland Specialist Palliative Care in Aged Care Team, ensuring timely and accurate information is shared with staff, clients, and the public.
Perform general administrative duties including reception, phone enquiries, correspondence, scanning, photocopying, faxing, and stock ordering.
Maintain accurate data entry and use of computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Queensland Health clinical systems (e.g. HBCIS, The Viewer, Dragon Medical Workflow Manager).
Demonstrate strong organisation, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities with good time management and problem-solving skills.
About you:
Experience or familiarity with Queensland Health systems (e.g. HBCIS, The Viewer, Winscribe) is highly regarded, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and related applications.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally, sensitively, and discretely across staff, external agencies, and the public.
Proven ability to work effectively within a diverse, multidisciplinary team and meet objectives within set timeframes and established procedures.
