About the opportunity
This role combines senior occupational therapy practice with substantive leadership of an assigned pod of Occupational Therapists. You will deliver evidence-based services while providing clinical guidance, quality assurance, practitioner development and performance oversight.
The 40/40/20 model
- 40% billable client caseload activities
- 40% team member support, quality assurance and clinical or practice supervision
- 20% Occupational Therapy practice development
What you'll be doing
Clinical service delivery
- Deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention across clinic, community and telehealth environments.
- Manage a reduced caseload of participants with complex needs.
- Complete environmental modification and equipment assessments.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes, reports and records.
Team leadership and performance oversight
- Maintain active awareness of clinician workload, priorities and deadlines.
- Monitor performance against billable expectations, monthly goals and service targets.
- Identify at-risk work, investigate barriers and agree recovery actions.
- Escalate unresolved clinical, performance, quality or safety concerns.
Clinical supervision and capability
- Provide regular supervision, evidence-based advice and operational support.
- Give respectful, specific and actionable feedback.
- Identify development needs and recurring capability gaps.
- Model effective caseload, documentation and stakeholder management.
Quality assurance and practice development
- Review reports and clinical documentation to improve quality and client outcomes.
- Monitor the quality and timeliness of work submitted for review.
- Develop training, resources and process improvements.
- Contribute to targeted education and service-improvement initiatives.
What we are looking for
Essential
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy.
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Minimum five years' experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Minimum one year's experience as a Team Leader or in a similar supervisory role.
- Demonstrated skill in supervision, coaching, quality assurance and performance support.
- High-level communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Knowledge of relevant disability or human-services legislation and practice.
- Current Australian driver licence.
Compliance requirements
- Current First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain.
- Blue Card, or willingness and eligibility to obtain.
- Yellow Card, or willingness and eligibility to obtain.
