Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to be based in our Brisbane office.
This position will be a 6-month contract role supporting one of our major clients.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the ideal candidate will drive the delivery of the APF Tie-in Project Well Pads and Gathering scope by ensuring all activities associated with this scope meet the objectives, constraints, and quality requirements of the Project, Santos and Joint Venture.
The position will support the Project Lead – Facilities and will assist with management of the external engineering service provider and directly manage equipment / fabrication vendors from competitive tender stage to ensure delivery is aligned with business objectives (scope, schedule, budget and quality) and help obtain relevant vendor data to support FEED, detailed design and operations.

Scope of Work
- Assist with management of the external engineering service provider
- Manage packaged equipment / fabrication vendors from competitive tender stage to ensure delivery is aligned with business objectives (scope, schedule, budget and quality) and obtain relevant vendor data to support FEED, detailed design and operations
- Establish a project safety culture by modelling health and safety values and behaviours and ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with company HSE policies, procedures, and standards
- Ensure inherent safety principles are applied in design and that project scope delivers process safety targets
- Ensure adherence, compliance and incorporation of Santos standards, philosophies and specifications into technical solutions
- Interface and engage with the Engineering Contractor/s, and packaged equipment vendors during FEED and future phases to ensure timely and to-quality delivery of scope
- Travel to site and/or contractor office as required to support project delivery
What makes you remarkable?
- 7+ years’ experience in engineering and project management roles within upstream oil and gas industry.
- Experience in Define (FEED) and Execute project phases.
- Experience with brownfield (especially hydrocarbon) projects.
- Track record of delivery in complex / challenging and remote environments.
- Global experience, especially in developing countries.
- Remote, developing country and wet tropics experience
