Our Opportunity: Construction Engineering Drafter & Senior Drafter
Currently we are seeking a Construction Engineering Drafter to join our growing Construction Engineering team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with structural engineers and architects to produce high-quality technical drawings and construction documentation for a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
Working across multiple jurisdictions, this role involves the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts, as well as handling claims and disputes. This role is responsible for optimising contract performance, protecting the company’s financial interests and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
In this role you will:
- Create detailed 3D drawings for temporary and permanent works structures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and clients to understand project requirements and provide drafting/modelling support accordingly.
- Support the team in the management of external sub-contractor engagements for specialist services i.e. drone surveys, shop detailing, 3D scanning, investigation works.
- Manage small projects autonomously where no Lead Engineer is allocated.
- Liaise with engineers and builders on the preparation and coordination of documentation.
- Competently convey structural/construction information into drawing format which can be interpreted by builders.
- Provide training and assistance to junior drafters including technical support of Revit/AutoCAD and other software.
- Actively input ideas to the progressive improvement of the CE team’s systems and processes.
What do we look for in our structural drafters?
- Minimum 3-5 years local experience with strong understanding and working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
- Previous experience in temporary works engineering will be considered a strong asset
- Interest in improving process automation and programming would be a considered and asset i.e. Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper.
- General understanding of BCA and relevant Australian Standards
