What you will be doing
Direct a crew of 2-5 on daily civil works including bulk earthworks, subgrade preparation, drainage installation and utilities.
Operate plant as required. Water cart, excavator, skidsteer, roller. You are expected to lead from the front, not the sideline.
Read and work to plans and survey control. Understand what a finished sports surface requires and sequence the work back from that.
Hold the crew to safety, quality and daily progress. Report to the Project Manager and Construction Manager.
Keep site documentation current. Diaries, timesheets, safety observations.
What you will need
Civil construction background with direct bulk earthworks and drainage experience.
Experience directing a crew on site, formally or informally.
At least one RII plant ticket. Excavator, skidsteer, roller or similar.
Current driver licence and White Card.
Willingness to get on the tools. This is a working leading hand role.
Useful, but not essential
HR or MR truck licence. Additional RII tickets across multiple machines. Sportsfield or landscape civil experience. Surveying awareness or GPS machine control experience.
