Company Description
Showtime Consulting is a leading provider of Shielded Cloud and Digital Solutions across Australia and New Zealand. We specialise in delivering secure, enterprise-scale technology solutions across cloud, data, networking, DevSecOps, platform engineering, and digital transformation programs.
We partner with major organisations to build high-performing technology teams and deliver innovative solutions that improve network reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency across critical telecommunications environments.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a high-performing telecommunications engineering team.
This is a hands-on role focused on designing, implementing, and optimising carrier-grade IP/MPLS core networks supporting fixed broadband and 4G/5G mobile services. You will play a key role in delivering highly available, scalable, and secure network infrastructure across multi-vendor environments including Cisco, Nokia, and Juniper platforms.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in IP routing and switching, core network design, and telecommunications infrastructure, with a proven track record working within carrier, ISP, or telecommunications environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimise carrier-grade IP/MPLS core networks supporting fixed broadband and 4G/5G mobile services.
- Develop and implement network solutions across core, edge, aggregation, and transport layers.
- Configure and troubleshoot complex routing and switching environments using Cisco, Nokia, and Juniper technologies.
- Implement and support routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, RIP, MPLS, and IPv6.
- Design and support Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) and DHCP services within broadband network environments.
- Lead low-level design (LLD) development, implementation plans, migration activities, and network upgrades.
- Perform traffic engineering, capacity planning, and network performance optimisation activities.
- Support integration between packet core, transmission, RAN, and data centre environments for 4G and 5G services.
- Investigate and resolve complex network faults, routing instabilities, convergence issues, and service-impacting incidents.
- Collaborate with architecture, planning, NOC, operations, and project teams to support network deployments and change activities.
- Implement routing security, access controls, DDoS mitigation, and network compliance standards.
- Maintain network documentation including topology diagrams, configuration standards, operational procedures, and design artefacts.
- Engage with technology vendors to support solution design, software upgrades, feature validation, and platform optimisation.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to junior engineers.
What You'll Need
