Salumi Australia producers artisan smallgoods in Northern NSW, and we require a full time Production Worker.
The role:
The Production Worker is responsible for carrying out hands-on production activities in an artisan smallgoods manufacturing environment. The role supports the full production cycle from raw material receipt through to product ready for packaging, ensuring high-quality, consistent and safe production of smallgoods products.
This position involves operating machinery, performing manual meat processing tasks, and supporting production workflows in accordance with established recipes, specifications, and production schedules.
The role is essential to achieving daily production targets while maintaining strict compliance with HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Standards Code requirements, and company food safety policies.
The Production Worker plays a critical role in ensuring efficient operations, product consistency, hygiene standards, and safe manufacturing practices across all stages of production.
What we are looking for:
- Education: Trade qualification in Food Science, Meat Science,Production Management, or a related field. (Relevant experience may substitute for a degree in some cases.)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food production, with a strong focus on cooked meats (hams, mortadella, sausages, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale meat processing operations.
- In-depth knowledge of meat curing processes (wet cure, dry cure, injection), smoking, and cooking techniques for ham and mortadella.
- Familiarity with various types of meat processing equipment.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety regulations.
Salary offered is $70k to $80k + superannuation.
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
