Role purpose:
The Digital Transformation Manager is responsible for leading AVWA's digital transformation strategy and technology roadmap to support organisational growth, operational efficiency, service delivery, and scalability.
The role will oversee the planning, selection, implementation, integration, and optimisation of enterprise systems across the organisation. Working closely with executive leaders, operational teams, and external vendors, the Digital Transformation Manager will ensure technology solutions align with business needs, industry best practice, compliance requirements, and future organisational objectives.
The role will provide strategic leadership across digital initiatives, including system architecture, integration, data governance, cybersecurity, vendor management, project delivery, and change management.
What we are looking for:
1. Digital Strategy and Transformation
- Develop and implement AVWA's digital transformation strategy and roadmap.
- Identify opportunities to improve organisational efficiency through technology, automation, and process redesign.
- Ensure digital initiatives align with organisational priorities and service delivery requirements.
- Provide strategic advice to the Executive Team regarding technology investments and digital capabilities.
2. Systems Planning and Architecture
- Lead system selection, evaluation, and implementation activities.
- Define system architecture, integration strategies, and future-state technology design.
- Assess buy-versus-build options and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and fit for purpose.
- Oversee data migration, integration, and system interoperability across platforms.
3. Business Requirements and Process Improvement
- Partner with business units to understand operational requirements.
- Ensure business processes are reviewed and aligned with industry best practice prior to system implementation.
- Work closely with Business Analysts to develop business requirements, process maps, and solution specifications.
- Promote standardisation and minimise unnecessary system customisation.
4. Project and Program Management
- Lead multiple digital transformation projects simultaneously.
- Establish project governance frameworks, reporting structures, and risk management processes.
- Monitor project scope, budget, timelines, quality, and benefits realisation.
- Ensure successful implementation and adoption of new systems.
5. Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, implementation partners, and software providers.
- Lead procurement activities including Requests for Proposal (RFPs), vendor evaluations, and contract negotiations.
- Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technology partners.
- Build strong relationships across all departments to support successful project outcomes.
6. Data Governance and Security
- Establish data governance standards and controls.
- Ensure compliance with privacy legislation, cybersecurity requirements, and industry regulations.
- Support data quality, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
- Promote secure and effective management of organisational information assets.
7. Change Management and Adoption
- Develop strategies to support user adoption and organisational change.
- Partner with managers and staff to build digital capability across the organisation.
- Ensure appropriate communication, training, and support is provided throughout implementation projects.
- Monitor adoption outcomes and address barriers to change.

Who you are:
Essential:
- Degree qualification in Information Technology, Business, Digital Transformation, Project Management, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise system implementation projects from requirements gathering through to deployment.
- Extensive knowledge of digital transformation, technology strategy, systems integration, and business process improvement.
- Experience managing technology vendors, implementation partners, and procurement processes.
- Strong project and program management experience with multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Experience developing governance frameworks, risk management plans, and implementation roadmaps.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and user adoption initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience within community services, aged care, disability, health, or not-for-profit sectors.
- Experience implementing CRM, ERP, HRIS, client management, or case management systems.
- Knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity, privacy, and information management frameworks.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum or equivalent).
- Change Management certification (Prosci or equivalent).
