What you'll be doing
The purpose of this position is to provide expert care and clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals across the speciality areas of Cardiothoracic surgery. This position will be responsible for the management of a cardiothoracic workload, including theatre duties, management of ward patients, and liaising with consultant surgeons and the wider multidisciplinary team.
This position will also be involved in unit teaching, surgical training and supervision of junior medical officers. The role is expected to participate in clinical audit and quality reviews within each unit and comply with all aspects of clinical governance. The role is also required to participate in the on call for each department depending on the rotation.
