Details: ACT Leave is the Statutory Authority responsible for administering the ACT's portable long service leave schemes. We are a small, purpose-driven organisation with a big remit.
Our values of Responsive, Approachable, Reliable, Transparent and Informed are not just words on our website, they shape how we work with each other and with the clients and industries we serve.
ACT Leave is growing into its next chapter. That means the systems, standards and culture we build over the next couple of years are the ones we will run on for the next decade. If you want a seat at that table, this is the kind of opportunity you want to apply for.
About the role
This is one of the most senior and critical roles at ACT Leave. As Senior Director, Enterprise Enablement, you will be part of the Executive Team, report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and lead the people and culture, finance, corporate support and procurement and ICT functions that keep a growing statutory authority running. You will also step into the Deputy Registrar role, exercising real statutory authority under the Long Service Leave (Portable Schemes) Act 2009 during periods of leave. You won't be inheriting a mature corporate services function, you will be building one and shaping how ACT Leave operates for years to come.
You will
-
Lead the design and build-out of ACT Leave's people and culture function. This includes workforce planning, performance, workplace safety and psychosocial wellbeing and the culture that holds it all together.
-
Lead procurement and contract management across the organisation, lifting probity, value for money and vendor relationships as ACT Leave's needs grow.
-
Set the ICT and digital transformation agenda, making sure systems and infrastructure can keep pace with an organisation that's still finding its shape.
-
Lead the financial function with support from finance specialists.
-
Be a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Team and Board when it comes to workforce, procurement, technology and financial risks.
-
Act as the Deputy Registrar, when required.
-
Build the team’s capability from the ground up including design the function, recruit and develop the team and embed a culture where corporate functions are seen as partners.
-
Hold a genuine seat at the Executive Team table, shaping ACT Leave's strategic direction.
About you
-
Demonstrated experience leading corporate services, ideally across three or more of human resources, finance, procurement and ICT including building or reshaping functions.
-
Comfortable being a trusted voice in the room with a Chief Executive Officer and Board and skilled at turning complex, sensitive issues into plain language and a strategy that people can act on.
-
A strong knowledge of employment, finance, procurement and accountability frameworks, or the confidence to get across them quickly.
-
Genuinely energised by ambiguity and by building things, not just maintaining them.
-
Tertiary qualifications in human resources, business, commerce or a related discipline, with at least five years in a senior corporate services leadership role.
Why ACT Leave?
-
A genuine seat at the table. Being a leader in a small team means real influence, visible impact and direct exposure to Executive and Board-level decision-making.
-
Flexible working arrangements are available.
-
Competitive ACT Government remuneration, leave and superannuation conditions, with further remuneration considered for the right candidate.
-
Investment in your development with training and career pathways tailored to your professional goals.
-
The chance to help build something. As ACT Leave grows, you will help shape the systems, culture and our way of working.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
Preferred
-
Tertiary qualifications in human resources, business, commerce or a related discipline.
-
Substantial recent experience (typically 5 or more years) in a comprehensive executive-level corporate services leadership role spanning three or more of finance, human resources, procurement and ICT with demonstrated capability and success across multiple domains relevant to this position.
-
Experience in a statutory authority, regulatory body or small government agency operating across multiple corporate functions with limited specialist support.
Highly desirable
-
Demonstrated experience managing external suppliers and vendors cost-effectively ensuring services are aligned with strategic priorities.
-
Experience leading significant ICT or digital transformation initiatives including vendor and contract management for technology services.
-
Relevant professional accreditation or active professional membership (for example, AHRI certification).
