An exciting career awaits you at ASC. We built Australia’s Collins Class submarines, sustain the Collins Class fleet, and have been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines in Australia.
To deliver on this new work, ASC are seeking experienced Radiological Controls Monitoring Technician to undertake long-term, world-leading training, primarily based in Pearl Harbor, Hawai’i.
Placements are available for August 2026 for a duration of approximately 1.5 - 2.5 years.
As a Radiological Controls Technician, you will:
Contribute to the radiological monitoring and control program, ensuring dose management, contamination prevention, and public protection
Communicate radiation safety requirements and produce management plans, audits, corrective actions, and compliance reports
Ensure compliance with safety controls and PPE requirements in high-risk environments, including noise, heat, chemicals, and ionising radiation
The successful applicant must possess:
During deployment, you will receive on the job training combined with instructor led classroom training, carried out in accordance with company and US Navy processes and procedures.
As part of this opportunity, you will be required to complete training in Virginia, located on the East Coast of the United States. This training is expected to comprise approximately six months of your total deployment period.
At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia (WA) to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines at HMAS Stirling.
Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.
