Primary objective
Support the Information Services function by providing quality, cost-effective records and information management services,
as well as confidential day-to-day client services, while following established procedures and processes within service
agreements that meet the needs of the client.
Context statement
Information Services provides best practice advice and records management services to NTG client agencies. Structured into
several work teams, a wide range of services are delivered including training development and delivery, courier and mail
services, records management, help desk services, records appraisal, sentencing and disposal, digital policy, and Freedom of
Information.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide direction and advice on information management issues to client agencies. Assist in the preparation of low
complexity system remediation and modifications to resolve issues and problems.
2. Provide business and application systems support in NTG client agency TRM datasets.
3. Provide accurate advice to the manager related to the delivery and maintenance of relevant services and identification
of potential risks and sensitivities. Work under guidance to resolve more complex client issues.
4. Research and analyse relevant information and data. Manage small projects.
5. Contribute to a culture of continuous business process improvement with suggestions for improvements to work tasks
and business practices.
6. Provide training, advice, guidance, and feedback to staff regarding records management systems and practices.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed organisational skills to plan tasks, manage changing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
2. Ability to research, analyse, review, and verify information and make evidence-based recommendations.
3. Experience creating and managing records in compliance with relevant principles, standards, and procedures.
4. Professional communication skills with the ability to provide accurate advice and responsive client service.
5. Ability to work collaboratively to build and sustain positive relationships with team members and clients and maintain
confidentiality and discretion.
6. Experience writing documentation such as work instructions.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical
practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Experience or qualifications in Information Management and use of Jira and/or Confluence.
