School Infrastructure is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school.

Primary Purpose of the role
The Assistant Project Officer, Portfolio Planning and Controls supports the delivery of projects and portfolio initiatives by providing project coordination, administrative support and analysis. The role helps develop consistent portfolio planning processes, maintains accurate project information, and works with stakeholders to support informed decision-making and the successful delivery of School Infrastructure projects.
- Support project planning activities by coordinating information, maintaining accurate documentation and providing administrative support to enable informed decision-making and effective planning.
- Contribute to portfolio planning by assisting with the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, tools and templates that promote consistent project and program delivery.
- Prepare information and reports by undertaking research, analysing data and contributing to briefing materials, reports and advice that support decision-making.
- Coordinate meetings and stakeholder engagement by organising meetings, preparing agendas, minutes and correspondence, and providing updates to stakeholders on project activities.
- Maintain project records and systems by managing documentation, records and databases to ensure information is accurate, accessible and compliant with departmental processes.

About you
- Experience supporting projects, programs or business operations through coordination, administration or reporting activities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse information and prepare quality documentation.
- A clear communicator who builds positive relationships and works well with others.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
