Livestock / Farm Hand position available for immediate start.
Contract Racing, a friendly and well established business in the Macedon Ranges, is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced livestock hand to join their team at ‘Yungaburra’, a 1000 acre cattle & horse farm.
This is a full time role and would suit someone with a strong, reliable work ethic and a genuine care for attention to detail. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
Duties will include:
Monitoring health & welfare of livestock (cattle & horses) on a daily basis / paddock checks
Feeding livestock and coordinating feed requirements
Maintaining and repairing farm infrastructure & machinery to ensure safe and efficient operations
Working alongside contractors for farm operations and maintenance
Assist with additional on farm tasks as required including general farm maintenance and presentation
Our ideal candidate will have:
Physical fitness to meet the inherent requirements of the role, including manual handling tasks in outdoor conditions
Experience operating ATV’s, tractors and other farm machinery
A strong understanding of livestock handling and animal welfare
Relevant horse & cattle handling experience
Skills in general farm & machinery maintenance, including fencing repairs
A solid commitment to workplace safety in all aspects of farm operations
Be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail
Prior experience is preferred but not essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
A current manual / heavy vehicle drivers licence
Stock handling Certificate
ChemCert Accreditation
