DGL Group is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) to lead our HSEQ function across the Group.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive leadership role is responsible for driving our HSEQ strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding a high-performance safety culture across a diverse portfolio of operations.
You will lead the HSEQ team while influencing stakeholders across all business units to strengthen risk management, governance and performance.

Develop and implement the Group's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) strategy, ensuring it aligns with DGL's business objectives, supports operational excellence and drives a culture of continuous improvement across all business units.
Lead, mentor and inspire a high-performing HSEQ team, providing strategic direction, coaching and professional development while building capability across the wider organisation.
Partner closely with operational leaders to embed a proactive safety culture, promoting accountability, risk awareness and best practice throughout all levels of the business.
Act as the trusted HSEQ advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, providing strategic guidance on legislative compliance, emerging risks, governance, performance and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with all applicable Australian Work Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation, regulations, codes of practice and industry standards across the Group.
Lead the investigation of significant incidents, identify root causes, and oversee the implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions to minimise future risk.
Drive environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives by monitoring environmental performance, improving waste management practices, supporting emissions reduction programs and ensuring compliance with environmental obligations.
Maintain, review and continually improve the Group's Integrated Management System, ensuring ongoing certification and compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
Plan, coordinate and lead internal and external audits, regulatory inspections and certification activities, ensuring timely closure of findings and continuous improvement of management systems.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory authorities including WorkSafe, EPA and other government agencies, representing the business during audits, inspections and compliance matters.
Oversee Major Hazard Facility (MHF) compliance, including Safety Case management, licensing requirements, emergency preparedness, risk assessments and regulatory reporting obligations.
Lead HSEQ due diligence activities for acquisitions, identifying operational risks, compliance gaps and integration requirements, while supporting the successful alignment of acquired businesses with DGL's HSEQ framework.
Monitor, analyse and report HSEQ performance metrics, trends and key initiatives to the Executive Leadership Team and Board, providing insights that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
You are a strategic and influential leader with extensive experience managing HSEQ functions within complex, high-risk environments.
You will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
8–10+ years' experience in a senior HSEQ leadership role within the manufacturing, chemicals, logistics, transport or other high-risk industries.
Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, environmental regulations and ISO management systems.
Demonstrated experience managing Major Hazard Facilities (MHF) and associated regulatory requirements.
Experience leading regulatory audits, investigations and compliance programs.
Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent communication and influencing abilities with executives, regulators and operational teams.
Experience supporting acquisitions and HSEQ integration activities will be highly regarded.
