About the Role:
In this instance, we are specifically looking for more staff to join an existing team of dedicated caregivers who provide support to a NDIS participant living in his own home in Mitchelton (4053). He receives care 7 days a week with the main shifts being:
· Morning: 8am – 10am
· Lunchtime: 12pm – 2pm
· Afternoon/ Evening: 2pm – 6pm/ 4pm – 6pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high intensity level assistance with activities of daily living and community access
- Personal care, transfers, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, transport
- Deliver care in accordance with the client's care plan that has been developed by a Registered Nurse
- Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly;
- Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Support Worker/ Caregiver.
- Experience supporting people with hearing impairment (including communication via Auslan), Cerebral Palsy/ intellectual impairment, medication administration, catheter care, and dysphagia management.
- Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset!
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to management when needed.
- Reliable way to get to and from the client's homes (i.e driving your own vehicle, no reliance on public transport).
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum Certificate III in either: Aged Care, Community, Individual Support or Disability, or extensive industry experience (i.e. equivalent to certificate III)
- National Police Check (Aged Care/ Vulnerable Persons Sector)
- Working With Children Check (e.g. QLD ‘Blue Card’)
- NDIS Worker Screener Clearance (e.g. QLD ‘Yellow Card’)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Completion
- Current CPR and First Aid certificates
- Current Driver’s licence + your own reliable vehicle (suitable for transporting clients with disability).
Preferred Requirements:
- You live in a suburb on the northside of Brisbane; ideally, within 10kms-15kms of postcode 4053 so driving time is kept to a minimum.
- You are available to work the shift times outlined above.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $33.96 – $93.72 per hour
