The Australian Camps Association (ACA) is seeking multiple active and engaging, male Disability Support Workers to join the People Outdoors (PO) team. The People Outdoors program gives children, teens and adults with disability the chance to experience real camp adventures, make friends and build confidence — with the right support around them.
The role involves supporting male participants during overnight camps that typically run for three-days/two-nights. Group transport is provided to and from camp and our departure location in Bundoora, Victoria.
About the role
You will:
- Provide compassionate, person-centred support that promotes participants’ dignity, safety, independence and individual goals.
- Implement and follow individual Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) including strategies to prevent and respond to behaviours of concern.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mealtime assistance, medication assistance and behaviour support.
- Enable participants to safely participate in recreational camp activities and outdoor experiences.
- Complete accurate progress notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, Australian Camps Association policies, and relevant legislative frameworks.
About you
You will have:
- A calm, confident and adaptable approach, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Sound written communication and incident-reporting skills.
- Demonstrated experience supporting people who may display verbal or physical behaviours of concern.
- A reliable, punctual and consistent approach to work.
- The availability and willingness to work for the full duration of the overnight camp (weekends throughout the year or weekdays over the school holiday period).
Mandatory Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications.
- Completion of Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting and Other Obligations training.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Valid Australian work rights.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
Desirable
Formal qualification in disability, community service or a related field. Relevant experience and employment history will also be considered.

Shift Schedule
- Weekend Camp Shifts: Friday: 5:30pm - Sunday: 3:00pm
- School Holiday Shifts: Day 1: 9:30am - Day 4: 3:00pm (weekdays)
