We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Section Waiter to join our team and help us deliver the warm, energetic and memorable style of hospitality that Vineria Luisa is known for.
This is an opportunity for someone who genuinely loves restaurants, enjoys building relationships with guests and wants to continue developing their knowledge of Italian food, wine and service.
The Role
As a Section Waiter, you’ll take ownership of your section and play an important role in shaping the guest experience from arrival through to farewell.
You’ll confidently guide guests through the menu, make thoughtful food and wine recommendations and work closely with the wider FOH and kitchen teams to deliver smooth, polished service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your section confidently throughout service
- Creating genuine rapport with guests and delivering warm, intuitive hospitality
- Preparing and maintaining your section to a high standard before and throughout service
- Taking orders accurately using our POS system
- Understanding dietary requirements and communicating these clearly with the kitchen
- Providing informed menu, wine and beverage recommendations
- Supporting food and wine pairing conversations
- Maintaining open communication between FOH and BOH throughout service
- Checking in with guests and proactively resolving any service concerns
- Ensuring bill accuracy and professional presentation
- Processing cash and card payments
- Contributing to the energy, standards and culture of the wider Vineria Luisa team
About You
We’re looking for personality, professionalism and genuine passion for hospitality.
You’ll thrive in a busy restaurant environment, enjoy getting to know your guests and take pride in the details that turn good service into a memorable dining experience.
To be successful, you will have:
- Full Australian working rights
- A current NSW RSA
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Approximately 1–3 years’ experience as a Section Waiter in a premium restaurant environment and/or formal hospitality studies
- Confidence managing your own section
- Previous experience using a hospitality POS system
- Strong food and beverage knowledge
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A calm and composed approach during busy services
- High grooming and presentation standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
Even Better If You Have
- A genuine interest in Italian food and wine
- Wine service and food pairing experience
- Experience using SevenRooms or another reservations platform
- Italian language skills
