- Salary commencing from $73,116 per annum, based on skills and experience + 12% Superannuation

About the opportunity
Wollondilly Shire Council has a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or student nearing the completion of their engineering degree to gain hands on experience with the support of a team of Development Engineers. Reporting to the Engineering Development Team Leader, the successful candidate will be involved in the assessment and approval of engineering design drawings, construction audits and the final acceptance of works on behalf of Council.
To succeed in this position, you will meet the following criteria:
- Currently completing the final year of, or recently completed, a Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Have appropriate working rights, that being, you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident, or have unlimited work rights in Australia without visa restrictions.
- Hold a current Australian Drivers Licence.
- Hold a current NSW White Card (General Construction Induction) or willingness to obtain before commencing employment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply initiative, creativity, and analytical thinking to investigate issues, identify opportunities, and develop practical solutions through academic projects, work placements, internships, or extracurricular activities.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain engineering concepts and technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyse, and interpret technical information, and apply engineering principles to develop practical and effective solutions to engineering challenges.
