Our company, Forever Shining, is a family-owned and operated business based in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. We are a designer and manufacturer of personalised memorials and a selection of architectural creations. We are currently seeking to employ a skilled and experienced Web Developer to join our team on a full-time basis.
The successful applicant must possess the equivalent of an Australian bachelor degree in Computing, Design, or Information Technology, or of similar field. The successful applicant must also have at least 12 months of relevant employment experience working within the memorial, cemetery, headstone, plaque or related monument industry. This experience is crucial because the role involves developing and maintaining our website and its 3D memorial design systems, which must strictly adhere to cemetery rules, memorial product specifications, inscription requirements, artwork restrictions, layout limitations and real production workflows.
Having relevant employment experience working with 3D engine development, cross-platform optimisation, IDE integration, 3D scanning, Blender 3D, LightWave 3D, NextEngine 3D Scanner and comprehensive browser/device testing will be highly regarded.
The main duties to be carried out by the successful candidate include, but not limited to, the following:
- Developing, maintaining and improving the company’s websites, including Forever Shining, Artforms and related digital platforms.
- Designing, building and updating web pages, landing pages, product pages, enquiry forms and online content to support the company’s memorial, plaque, headstone, cremation memorial, pet memorial and public art services.
- Maintaining, improving and assisting with the redevelopment of the company’s online design-your-own systems, including legacy systems originally built using ActionScript 3, Adobe Flash Pro, Away3D, XML, PHP, JavaScript and related technologies.
- Supporting the development of the company’s 3D design-your-own memorial platform, which allows customers and staff to create, customise, preview and approve plaques, headstones, memorials and related products in an interactive digital environment.
- Developing and maintaining 3D web application features, including 3D scene setup, product visualisation, material previews, memorial background options, camera views, user interface controls and cross-platform optimisation.
- Working with management, designers, sales staff and production staff to understand business requirements and convert them into practical website, software, design system and production workflow improvements.
- Applying memorial industry knowledge, including cemetery requirements, product specifications, plaque and headstone dimensions, layout limitations, inscription
requirements, artwork restrictions, fixing methods and production processes, when developing digital tools and customer-facing design systems.
The offer salary is AUD 91,000 per annum plus Superannuation.
