Timber Creek Travellers Rest is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Bar Supervisor/Duty Manager to join our friendly team in the heart of the Northern Territory.

Previous experience working in remote locations will be highly regarded.
About the Role
Working closely with our Site Managers, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our busy bar, supermarket and bistro. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll supervise staff, deliver outstanding customer service and help create a welcoming experience for locals and travellers alike.
Your Responsibilities
· Deliver exceptional customer service across the bar, supermarket and bistro
· Supervise, mentor and train team members
· Balance tills and complete daily cash reconciliation
· Assist with stock control, stocktakes and ordering
· Ensure responsible service of alcohol and compliance with venue procedures
· Help maintain a clean, safe and well presented venue
About You
You're someone who enjoys leading by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves. You're adaptable, reliable and enjoy being part of a supportive team.
Working in a busy remote venue means you'll occasionally need to handle challenging customer situations with confidence, professionalism and good judgement. You'll remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively and always represent the business in a positive manner.
Essential Requirements
- Previous bartending experience
- Current RSA Certificate
- Food Safety Certificate
- Current Driver's Licence
- National Police Clearance
- Experience using point-of-sale systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the confidence to professionally manage difficult or intoxicated customers
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
- A high level of initiative, resilience and problem-solving ability
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not essential
Experience living or working in remote communities will be viewed favourably.
Hours
Typical roster is 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm, up to 6 days per week.
