Our opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Category Manager, Development to join our Sydney team. In this strategic role, you will partner closely with our Development, Design and Construction teams to drive smarter procurement outcomes across Mirvac's portfolio. You will play a key role in improving project margins, enhancing delivery outcomes, building long-term supplier partnerships, and embedding procurement as a value-creating capability from project conception through to asset lifecycle.
Working across a broad range of categories, you'll lead strategic sourcing initiatives, influence key business decisions, identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency, and deliver meaningful commercial, operational and ESG outcomes aligned to Mirvac's long-term strategy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partner with Development, Design and Construction teams to identify and deliver strategic procurement initiatives that optimise value and project outcomes.
- Develop and execute category strategies and go-to-market approaches, leveraging innovative procurement methodologies and technologies.
- Drive procurement involvement early in the project lifecycle to maximise commercial outcomes, streamline delivery and enhance customer experience.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to optimise design standards, materials and supplier engagement, balancing commercial outcomes with Mirvac's commitment to quality, innovation and design excellence.
- Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships that deliver value, innovation, operational efficiency and ESG outcomes.
- Support the delivery and reporting of procurement programs, benefits realisation, supplier performance metrics and governance requirements.
- Contribute to key sustainability initiatives, including decarbonisation, social procurement, First Nations engagement and responsible sourcing practices.
- Influence business-wide procurement capability and drive continuous improvement through data-led insights, strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement.
Your point of difference
You bring proven experience in procurement, category management, strategic sourcing or supply chain leadership within a large, complex organisation. Exposure to the property, development, construction or infrastructure sectors will be highly regarded, along with a demonstrated track record of delivering commercial value, influencing change and driving continuous improvement through strategic procurement initiatives.
A strategic and commercially minded professional, you combine strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to build trusted partnerships across diverse business groups. You are highly analytical, able to translate data and market intelligence into actionable insights that support better decision-making and long-term value creation.
You'll bring a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach, complemented by strong communication skills, sound commercial judgement and the ability to deliver outcomes through collaboration rather than authority. Comfortable navigating complex environments, you leverage technology, innovation and modern procurement practices to drive performance, manage risk and support business objectives, all while operating with the highest levels of integrity and professionalism.
