Role Description:
We have an exciting opportunity working within the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Training Systems Support Team, performing technical training analysis, design, development and implementation activities to support Hunter Class Frigate training requirements.
As the Training Designer (Marine Engineering), you will develop technical training curriculum, technology-based training solutions and training documentation in accordance with applicable standards, including safety and regulatory requirements.
Core Duties:
- Conduct training feasibility analysis and provide specialist instructional design advice to support program requirements
- Conduct user testing, validate training designs and resources, and review training products for accuracy, quality and consistency
- Prepare training products for delivery in accordance with the approved schedule and ensure supporting data is available to meet contractual requirements
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, communicate issues objectively and professionally, and participate in approved external customer forums where required
- Participate in regular and ad hoc team meetings and report assigned work package progress to the HCF ILS Training Lead (Marine Engineering)
- Seek and share good practice, contribute to process and plan development, and support continuous improvement initiatives across training design activities
- Apply experience using Microsoft Office tools to support training development, documentation, reporting and stakeholder communication activities
Essential Skills:
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
- Defence, (Royal Australian Navy) maritime technical trade, or production experience highly desirable
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment essential
- Practical application of the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL), or the Analyse, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate (ADDIE) model
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Engineering Electrical, Engineering Mechanical or equivalent
- Technical training design or development experience, including marine technician operation and maintenance, Marine Systems Controller experience, electrical systems, integrated platform management systems (IPMS), or propulsion systems
- Experience operating within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTO) under the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS)
