D & J Estate Pty Ltd is an established South Australian agricultural operations services business providing contracted vineyard, horticultural and agricultural services to commercial growers and agricultural enterprises across South Australia.
Since 2015, D & J Estate has undertaken agricultural operations under commercial service agreements with its clients, including vineyard and orchard maintenance, pruning, canopy management, crop cultivation and maintenance, harvesting and related production services.
D & J Estate plans, coordinates, supervises and delivers these services through its own management and supervisory structure and directly employed workforce.

The Role
D & J Estate is seeking Vineyard Workers to undertake practical vineyard operations across multiple contracted work sites throughout South Australia.
Reporting to the Vineyard Supervisor, Vineyard Workers will perform a range of vineyard maintenance, crop care and harvesting activities in accordance with daily work instructions, operational work programs, quality requirements and safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vineyard maintenance and production activities including pruning, vine training, tying, canopy management and crop maintenance.
- Undertake harvesting and other seasonal vineyard activities.
- Assist with planting, establishment and maintenance of vines as required.
- Carry out thinning, shoot positioning, wire lifting and other canopy management activities.
- Identify and report visible crop, vine, irrigation, pest or disease issues to the Vineyard Supervisor.
- Use hand tools and other vineyard equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist with the movement, preparation and maintenance of tools, equipment and materials required for vineyard operations.
- Follow daily work allocations and instructions provided by the Vineyard Supervisor.
- Complete vineyard tasks to required productivity, quality and operational standards.
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements, safe work procedures and company policies.
- Comply with site-specific requirements and operational procedures at contracted work sites.
- Participate in workplace induction, training and skills development activities.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and other D & J Estate employees to complete scheduled vineyard operations.
- Maintain work areas, tools and equipment in a safe and orderly condition.
- Report hazards, incidents, equipment issues and operational problems to the supervisor.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate should have:
- A relevant AQF Certificate II or higher qualification in Viticulture, Horticulture, Agriculture or a related field; alternatively, relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification where appropriate.
- Relevant experience in vineyard, horticultural or agricultural operations is preferred.
- Practical experience in vineyard activities such as pruning, vine training, canopy management, crop maintenance or harvesting is highly regarded.
- Ability to follow instructions and perform practical vineyard tasks safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team under the direction of a supervisor.
- Good awareness of workplace health and safety and safe agricultural work practices.
- Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work and perform duties in varying weather and seasonal conditions.
- Ability and willingness to travel to and work across multiple operational sites throughout South Australia.
- A current valid Australian driver's licence is desirable due to work across multiple operational sites.
Employment Conditions
- Permanent full-time employment with D & J Estate Pty Ltd.
- 10 positions available.
- Salary: AUD $70,000–$75,000 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
- Employment entitlements provided in accordance with applicable Australian workplace laws and the National Employment Standards.
- The position requires work across multiple contracted vineyard, horticultural and agricultural sites throughout South Australia.
