Here’s where you come in!
The overview:
-
Providing legal support to the International Business unit, including its commercial, manufacturing and development activities, assisting the Executive Vice President and General Counsel on (i) a range of corporate and commercial matters affecting the business, (ii) providing practical legal advice principally focussed in the areas of negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements and (iii) preparation of legal function budgets and forecasts and monitoring legal spend;

Assisting the Vice President, Global Risk & Compliance (with oversight of the EVP, General Counsel) to facilitate and monitor various compliance topics, including privacy, particularly in Australia;

Assisting the Company Secretary with any local corporate governance matters;

Providing local legal advice on environmental and employment related topics; and
-
Working collaboratively with other members of the legal team on various legal topics.
The Key Task Accountabilities will be:

Provide quality legal advice to the business
-
Maintain high levels of expertise to ensure that relevant and appropriate advice is provided to the business

Manage the drafting or reviewing of commercial contracts and letters of agreement, and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial and operational matters

Advise on legal compliance and risks

Apply strong conceptual, analytical and strategic skills to complex matters. Prepare or review complex materials for external legal counsel when appropriate

Support the maintenance and ensure compliance with the company’s contract management system

Engage in appropriate professional development activities
-
Identify future initiatives, managing commercial risks or opportunities and recommend appropriate action
-
Prepare and provide training to the business in relation to legal issues, company policies including privacy, trade practices/anti-trust and compliance with the anti-bribery legislation

Assist with preparation of AU legal/IP budgets and forecasts and coordinate tracking of legal/IP expenses against budget and forecast on a monthly basis with the other members of the legal/IP team

Assist the Vice President, Global Risk & Compliance to facilitate and monitor non-health regulatory compliance, such as preparation of policies/SOPs and assisting with monitoring of Australian sales representatives

You'll also need to hold a Law degree and have 5-7+ years post-admission experience.

Privacy and/or governance expertise

Able to issue spot in key areas of non-health regulatory compliance (eg, competition and consumer law, IP law, privacy law and anti-bribery law)
