About your role
Join Lagoon Ward at Redland Hospital, a dynamic 28-bed medical unit combining a 16-bed Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU) with a 12-bed Acute Medical Unit (AMU).
Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care across MAPU and acute/subacute medicine
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care
Care for patients with complex medical conditions including cardiac, stroke, respiratory, diabetes and renal presentations
Collaborate with patients, families and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
Develop your clinical skills in patient assessment, care coordination and discharge planning
Contribute to patient flow and contemporary demand management practices
Participate in quality improvement, clinical education and evidence-based practice
Work across different Bayside Health Service sites as required
About you
We are looking for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and is motivated to continue developing their clinical expertise in acute and subacute medical nursing.
Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care
Strong clinical assessment, planning, prioritisation and decision-making skills
Ability to recognise and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
Effective communication and collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork skills
Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to the wider team
Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance

Redland Hospital is the major health centre for adults and children in the Redlands and Brisbane's southern bayside suburbs. We provide a range of services including emergency care, primary health and minor injury care, acute and subacute medicine, general surgery, maternity and paediatric, mental specialist outpatient and mental health care.
