SC1 An understanding of how children learn.
SC2 Experience and sound knowledge in assessing and providing intervention in the areas of, oral language, articulation, pragmatics, literacy and fluency, and the ability to provide specialist advice on appropriate intervention strategies, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods.
SC3 Capacity to work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary professional team and contribute significantly to the achievements of the team. Well-developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
SC4 Ability to design, deliver or broker professional learning, preferably for teachers and other relevant professionals, in the area of language and communication.
SC5 Ability to deliver a comprehensive speech pathology service to students and families in an educational environment, including speech and language assessment and reporting and the provision of advice on program delivery.

Provide speech pathology services to a school or network of schools.
Contribute to the delivery of student support services within a multi-disciplinary team across a school network.
Contribute to the development and implementation of student support services policy across a school network.
Support schools and teachers in the identification and development of educational, social and emotional programs providing prevention, intervention and postvention stages, particularly in respect to students who are vulnerable, or have additional needs.
Work with and support children and young people in out of home care or those impacted by trauma.
Provide advice to the leadership of a school network about student support service needs.
Liaise with community service organisations, DHS hospitals, specialist programs and other professionals.
Provide a speech pathology service to a school or network of schools that includes conducting individual assessments; providing assessment reports and advice about relevant teaching and learning strategies; and undertaking individual, group and family work.
Provide professional advice and support to principals, school staff and school communities that will enhance the learning, development and wellbeing of students, particularly those who are most vulnerable.
Ensure professional advice is directed toward addressing government and network student engagement and wellbeing priorities.
Contribute to the development of strategic interventions that support capacity building related to student learning, engagement and wellbeing consistent with the priorities of schools networks and the Department.
Support the establishment and strengthening of links and referral pathways between relevant departments, services, community organisations and schools to optimise support for vulnerable children, young people and their families.
Provide collaborative support to a multi-disciplinary professional team that provides wellbeing support to students.
Participate in staff support, supervision, learning and development and knowledge sharing activities as a professional member of a multidisciplinary team.

Berwick Chase Primary School officially opened its doors at the start of the 2009 school year. Located in one of the fastest growing areas in Australia, the school has undergone significant and rapid growth.
The school consists of two permanent buildings that are complimented by a number of relocatable buildings that will increase as the student population grows. The current enrolment is 670 students.
The staff utilise flexible learning spaces to provide our students with a firm grounding in Numeracy and Literacy whilst developing the students thinking and social skills to their greatest potential. Staff work collaboratively to provide the students with a learning environment that encourages all children to develop to their highest level. To maximise learning opportunities, the school has a futures orientation with the aim of developing our children as productive local and global citizens.
